Trader Joe's, based out of Monrovia (just outside Los Angeles) California, is a specialty foods grocery store chain and without a doubt is a unique and incredible success. Top quality products, low prices and incredible service provided by the amazing "Crew" and Store "Captains" are the key ingredients.
We designed and delivered a four-day workshop for their Technical Analyst, three-day workshop for their Support Desk, and a two-day workshop for pilot Store Captains prior to the new POS deployment. MacLaren consultants were brought in to help develop the new store procedures and were utilized again when the company needed additional expertise in sorting out some initial software problems.
We also developed a CD-ROM for the Crew to learn about the new hardware and POS system, a CD-ROM for the Store Captains to learn how to deal with the new processes in balancing the store each day, workbooks and job aids for quick references.
MacLaren Deployment Specialists were used to supplement the Trader Joe's Team when it came to launch day.
Virginia Alcoholic Beverage Control
The State of Virginia needed to implement a new POS and inventory system for its 256 retail liquor stores. MacLaren was retained to support the entire training needed with a turnkey solution.
We designed and delivered a four-day workshop for VABC's Technical Analysts, five-day workshop for the Support Desk, a two-day workshop for the pilot stores and Deployment Specialists on "Go-Live" day.
MacLaren also developed workshops for the Managers, a custom CD-ROM for the POS and Cash Management/Back Office training, and "Train-the-Trainer" workshops. Custom workbooks and job aids for cashiers and managers were also developed for quick reference.
Washington State Liquor Control Board
The State of Washington needed to implement a new POS and inventory system for its 161 retail liquor stores. The MacLaren Group was retained to support the entire training.
We designed and delivered a two-day workshop including "Train-the-Trainer" to all 161 store managers and assistants. Custom CD-ROMs for the POS and Back Office training including Cash Management and Inventory Control. Custom Manager and Cashier workbooks were also developed along with job aids for quick reference.
MacLaren consultants' expertise was capitalized upon to help develop the new store procedures and were utilized again when the company needed additional adeptness in sorting out some initial software problems.
MacLaren also provided Deployment Specialists who installed and implemented the new POS hardware and software, and provided technical support and training on "Go-Live" day.
